Has your engine lost its spark? Over time, your spark plugs can become covered in carbon, oil or fuel reducing their efficiency. If your engine is knocking, slow to accelerate or misfires then you may need to replace your spark plugs.
Usually, it’s recommended to replace your spark plugs 30,000 to 50,000 miles, but longer-life plugs tipped in iridium or platinum can last even longer. If you’ve just bought a second-hand car, it may be a good idea to change your spark plugs to ensure you have peace of mind, and as they’re a low-cost part that’s easy to replace, it’s well worth doing.
