Antifreeze usually comes in two forms, either ready-mixed or concentrated. Ready-mixed is the easiest solution, as it’s able to be poured straight into your cooling system. Concentrated coolant will require mixing with water; however, it will provide you with more fills per bottle and more cost-effective in the long run.

Initially, water was used to cool car engines, however, water was prone to boiling over in the heat and freezing in the cold. This led to increased engine wear and overheating. To combat this, anti-freeze was born!

Our range of anti-freezes includes Bluecol. Bluecol was created in the 1930s and was one of the UK’s first antifreeze brands and quickly became the original fill for premium car companies such as Jaguar, Land Rover, and Bentley.

Make sure you check your coolant levels regularly and keep them to the marked level. Usually, it is recommended to complete a coolant change every 2 years or 30,000 miles, but as with most parts and fluids, it’s best to check your manufacturer’s recommendation. The good news is, that it’s easy to complete an anti-freeze or coolant change and can be done at home providing you have the correct equipment.
